Mi mum
was a fabulous date, she even picked me up!
Wine, Women and Shoes
goes hard each year, but this year they were downright inflexible! The event was sponsored by Glo-Minerals and featured
the Today Show’s very own style guru: Bobbie Thomas. And let me just say, guru she is. Homegirl should add intellectual analyist to her
laundry list of titles! I had the pleasure
of chatting with Bobbie and little did I know this woman was a walking
encyclopedia of knowledge and wisdom.
She had great insight to share about being a woman in this generation while
doing what you love, but being smart about it.
The clearest picture she painted was when she described every woman as a
compact, and the make-up inside our unique gifting, true in form to each individual.
She proceeded to explain that once we
come to terms with our gifting we can begin to share it and presumably reap a
desirable response, but unless we know our "make-up" we’re simply empty
compacts. Harsh, but oh so true! Thank you Bobbie. Touche'.
The rest of the evening
was spent perusing, not shopping, through the Four Seasons ballroom, ogling at yummies
from various designers. We sipped wines
from local favorites and indulged on bite sized nibbletts in the name of charity, and of course to sport our favorite footwear! Seattle
Children’s Home proudly hosted the event for its 2nd year and is
quickly becoming the event beneficiary.
All proceeds support mental and developmental health services provided
to children and the community by the Seattle Children’s Home.
Once again great success,
delicious wines and even better shoes!
Thank you for having
me.
