Givenchy: Flaming Haute Couture

Opulent is how I will describe the Givenchy Spring 2011 Haute Couture line.  The sheer chiffon, hand painted tulle, swan embroidery, pops of citrus infused colors, rich feathering and delicate beading exude an aerial elegance, while the colossal helmets and structured shoulders channel the Samurai theme of the collection.

The ‘Divine Warrior Woman’ would be the appropriate title for this exquisite collection.  Although only 10 dresses are featured, Riccardo Tisci – Givenchy Creative Director – explains that they are all one of a kind, and that no duplicates will be made, (which is nice, because once I can afford one of these dresses, I don’t want to see anyone else in it).  Tisci chose all Asian models to fulfill Givenchy’s Japanese Culture inspired collection.  The models are gorgeous.  It is refreshening to see an all ethnic model cast, and even better to look at the models and see the unique beauty that each of them embody.
