Stella McCartney’s Spring 2011 ready to wear collection is subtly breathtaking with its mixture of soft pastels, rustic denim and strong tailoring. The vegetarian designer and advocate of green alternatives in the realm of fashion has always been one to capture a casual femininity with her pieces: an effortless chic and supple elegance. In contrast, I love the defined lines in this recent collection in terms of tailoring. The double slit is very alluring, yet modest due to the sophistication of the skirts and dresses. The strong shoulders in the blazers square out the silhouette, while the high waisted pants and cuffed detail soften the look – beautifully done.
