I felt it was imperative to share the work of this Canadian artist by the name of Kris Knight. I came across his pieces while blog surfing and was struck by the imagery and use of duality.
There’s a constant use of contrasting forces in his art, for example cold and dead while life like and warm, or menacing and sweet. You see these depictions especially in the colors: the soft grey and blue color of the subjects faces make them appear deceased and stiff, but their cherry colored lips and noses bring warmth and life.
Take a minute to really look at the subjects as a opposed to simply glancing them over – there is a raw reality within each. Allow yourself to see you in them.
I hope you all enjoy his work. More on the artist HERE.
